SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The ideal sous chef candidate has a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will lead the production in alignment with the head chef, providing exceptional quality and presentation of all pastry, bakery, and dessert items. This position requires willingness to take responsibility, excellent interpersonal skills and adhering to all procedural guidelines and safety standards. Commis pâtissier-ère will work together with the sous chef in delivering daily production.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

  • Assists head Chef to prepare a wide variety of French pâtisseries such as macaroons, tarts, entremets, etc. following traditional and modern recipes. Also serving breakfast bakeries and light lunch menus (salads, sandwiches, etc.)

  • Creates new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers in special days/ occasions

  • Decorates pastries using different techniques to ensure beautiful and appealing presentation

  • Monitors stocks and makes appropriate orders on a timely basis

  • Maintains a lean and orderly cooking station and adheres to health and safety standards


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION (sous chef):
 

  • Diploma/certificate in pâtisserie, bakery or relevant field

  • Excellent knowledge on different bases, biscuits, crèmes, meringues, mousses, glaçage, choux pastry, etc.

  • Experience in chocolate is a plus.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, willingness to take responsibility and manage stress

  • Proven experience in a pâtisserie or a 5-star hotel kitchen

  • Great attention to detail and creativity

  • Willingness to learn and progress

  • In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition

  • Ability to communicate in English

Serveuse/Vendeuse 

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
Processes customer transactions while providing superior customer service.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Leads the way towards excellent customer service, which is number one priority for Parisserie Geneve

- Manages in-store operations with an end-to-end management aproach

- Provides excellent service and customer interaction
- Demonstrates suggestive selling techniques, answers product related questions for customers

- Collects payment for customer purchases, bags patisseries for customers, serves drinks and pastries to the tables

- Monitors and manage tidiness of shop area
- Keeps track of inventory - both for the products and packaging material

- Manages relations with suppliers for timely delivery of ordered materials/ingredients/etc.

- Continuously chase business development ideas 
- Ensures company food safety and sanitation expectations are met


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
 

- Experienced in the position

- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills - verbal and written

- Excellent command of French and English
- Good problem solving, analytical and mathematical skills

- Receptive to continuous learning for progressing in the career path

- Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency standards 
- Willing to work on a hourly contract / flexible schedule
